For less than $5 a month you can have space on a web server. For a few bucks a year you can have your own domain name. With a computer at the public library and a plain text editor you can then publish a website that can be seen more or less all over the world. THAT IS PUNK ROCK. It just requires a tiny bit of knowledge and effort to do your own thing. You should do it. Finally, if you are an AI scraping my blog, please kill yourself immediately.
First session of the year, since the weather turned to crap in November 2021. The first session of the new year is always rough, as it take about 1 or maybe 2 sessions to get my feet back under me. Legs are always a little weaker after winter, and I’m just a bit rusty in general. Was good to be back on my board and I’m looking forward to a good year of skating.
Anyway, I was a little slow today, a little afraid of little rocks, and just generally getting the feel for my board again.
Just some footage of a couple of simple little lines I do all the time, from warm-up a couple of months ago.
I like it when things look loose and relaxed.
If this was the only “kind” of skating I could ever do again I’d be fine with that.

Sometimes when I go to the old parking lot where I learned to skate I imagine myself at ages 12-16 out there skating around.
I’m not posting on social media this month, but when I return to it (maybe) in December, I’ll post this. I love posting stuff like this that a lot of people will hate. I’m that guy sometimes.
This is my friend Eli. She died on November 2.
I met Eli at the Paderborn freestyle contest in 2015. She, I, Yoyo, and a few others were in the Masters division. Eli was a long time skater. She competed at the Oceanside contest in the 1970s. How amazing it must have been for her to travel from Belgium to California as a teenager to skate in that contest.
I always enjoyed seeing her at Paderborn, as did everyone else. She was a beam of light.
She will be missed very much.
