For less than $5 a month you can have space on a web server. For a few bucks a year you can have your own domain name. With a computer at the public library and a plain text editor you can then publish a website that can be seen more or less all over the world. THAT IS PUNK ROCK. It just requires a tiny bit of knowledge and effort to do your own thing. You should do it.

Here’s my final project from drawing class. This is done in pastels. My first serious attempt at using color. I’m pretty happy with it. I learned a lot from it, and there are a lot of mistakes, but I think I could do a lot better now.
These first few meetings of my drawing class have concentrated on gesture drawings. Last night we went down to the gallery, where this exhibit is currently running. The sculpture installations were amazing — like 3-D versions of the gesture drawings we’ve been doing.
So we spent about 45 minutes in the gallery, doing gesture drawings of the hanging sculptures. Afterward I took a few pictures. Really nice stuff. When I get my sketch book back I’ll post a drawing or two from that session.
The paintings in this exhibit were also very interesting. If you are in the area you should check this exhibit out. Here’s the gallery info — it is at the Spring Creek Campus of CCCCD.
Yet another drawing of our cat. I am working on my gesture drawing. After a lifetime to trying to do very detailed drawings, it is challenging and difficult to loosen up. This is about a 90 second drawing.
Our cat, Nina, was asleep on my lap the other night. My sketch book was handy. Here is my quick and dirty sketch.
